Overhead of the Paradise Hotel bistro menu on patterned tiles

The Paradise Hotel on Lower North East Road in Paradise is a proper local: a big bistro, a busy front bar and a menu full of pub favourites. I shot their new menu along with the drinks and bar team, in a darker, moodier style that makes the food pop off their patterned tile tables.

A moody bistro menu

Directional light and deep shadows gave the menu a premium feel: mixed grills, fish of the day and burgers, all shot on the bistro's bold tiles so the images are instantly recognisable as Paradise.

Action and functions

A lemon squeezed mid-spray over crumbed prawns, and platters laid out for function packages, show the food the way guests actually experience it.

Behind the bar

The bar team are the face of any pub, so we finished with cocktails being shaken, an espresso martini, a fresh pint off the tap and red wine handed across the counter.
